 Adar Gandelsman is an Israeli model. Adar was Miss Israel's first third-place winner, winning the title of Miss Universe Israel. She also participated in the Miss Universe 2017 pageant. Adar participated in the Miss Universe 2017 pageant in Las Vegas, but did not finish in the top tier. Gandelsman and Miss Universe Iraq Sarah Idan took a selfie together during the pageant. Idan as well as her family fled Iraq in December 2017 after she took a photo with Miss Israel. Miss Israel was also in the Israel Defense Forces at that time. Gandelsman, who is Ashkenazi Jewish and immigrated from Brazil in 1992, was the one to take the picture. [1][2The word "adar" is a reference to a month.
