 Milana Aleksandrovna Vayntrub is an American actress, comedian and activist. Her birthplace was in the Soviet Union to Jewish parents and began her career as an actor as a young person soon after her move to the United States. She gained notoriety for her roles in AT&T commercials on television as salesperson Lily Adams from 2013 to 2016, and then from in 2020. She was also a frequent series regular on the Yahoo! Screen science fiction comedy Other Space (2015) and had a recurring role in the NBC drama This Is Us (2016-2017). Vayntrub is also the voice for Squirrel girl on Marvel Rising since 2018, following her appearance in the unaired television pilot New Warriors. Vayntrub was Jewish born in Tashkent, Uzbek Soviet Socialist Republic. Her parents and she left antisemitism at two years old. They emigrated to the U.S. with their children. The financial struggles of her family resulted in her appearing in Mattel Barbie commercials from the age of five. Vayntrub went to Beverly Hills High School briefly, but she was kicked out of the school after her sophomore year. Then, she earned a GED, and earned the Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication at University of California, San Diego. As part of the Upright Citizens Brigade she studied improv comedy.
